Senior SRE Engineer

As an SRE Engineer, you will ensure platform availability, embrace SRE principles, assist stakeholders with technical issues, and encourage innovation. This role requires strong communication, lean thinking, and 3+ years of experience managing public cloud deployments. Requirements

• Possess strong communication skills

• Have three or more (3+) years of work experience managing a Public Cloud Provider deployment (Google Cloud preferred but AWS/Azure is also welcome)
• Be fluent in Linux usage and administration
• Have experience managing K8s resources or clusters (preferred GKE)
• Have experience with Linux-Like OS knowledge (Centos - Ubuntu - Alpine)
• Have experience with system-level troubleshooting: understanding logs, strace, netstat, top/htop, iostat, etc
• Have experience with monitoring tools (ie Prometheus - DataDog/NewRelic)
• Know Programming languages Bash script - Python - Go
• Have an understanding of distributed systems
• Have knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Be proficient in Version Control - Git (GitLab)
• Have experience with a Declarative infrastructure tool

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability of the stensul's platform
• Embrace the SRE principles: Embrace Risk, set and monitor SLOs, eliminate toil, monitor systems, prioritize simplicity, foster collaboration, promote continuous improvement
• Assist internal stakeholders to work on infra-related technical issues and support needs
• Stand as a technical reference or point of contact on infra-related technical issues
• Encourage innovation through experimentation
• Learn new technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Have some experience with Storage knowledge (Glusterfs - NFS - K8s Volumes)
• Have experience with CI/CD (Jenkins - GitLabCI - Helm - Kustomize)
• Have experience with GitOps Tools (Flux - Argo)
• Have experience with Security (OSSEC - Falco - Google SCC - Docker Image scanning tools)
• Have experience with database engines such as SQL and NoSQL
• Have MySQL Administration (intermediate) & Administration (beginner to intermediate) experience
• Possess a great sense of humor
