Requirements

  • Experience with technical oversight/responsibility across multiple teams and technologies in an organization – as an architect, director, or senior/principal staff
  • Mastery of native AWS service development using serverless, distributed, event-driven, and cost-effective scalable techniques, including usage of Python, .NET Core, node.js/Typescript, and Terraform
  • Prior experience leading iterative cloud transformations of legacy monolithic software into native AWS implementations
  • Mastery in areas of legacy technology, to lead their improvement and/or adaptation in AWS, including .NET Framework, Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MFC
  • A DevOps-focused mindset of designing services that are observable, independently testable, scalable, and high-quality
  • Strong communication skills and can clearly and concisely set expectations and provide direct feedback as needed

Responsibilities

  • Drive architectural consistency across engineering projects, promoting simplicity and robust design
  • Maintain system uptime and ensure zero critical software or DevOps incidents through high-quality solutions and resilient systems
  • Lead strategic technology progression across the stack and align technical execution with product goals on a quarterly basis
  • Facilitate architectural reviews and collaboration among Staff Engineers and technical leaders to ensure cohesive execution
  • Identify trade-offs and escalate decisions to balance quality, scope, and delivery timelines effectively
  • Guide and assist in delivering critical projects around district-wide rostering and proctored assessments, research-driven scoring, and data integrations
  • Support high-priority recovery and repair initiatives to reduce support tickets and enhance platform stability
