Summary

Join NBCUniversal as a Senior Staff Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst and leverage your deep expertise in cyber threat intelligence to lead strategic initiatives, analyze complex cyber incidents, and mentor other analysts. You will cultivate intelligence-sharing networks, provide thought leadership on cybersecurity, and communicate actionable insights to diverse audiences. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity with a strong focus on cyber threat intelligence. You will be responsible for leading threat intelligence projects, developing innovative methodologies, and anticipating future threats. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity with a strong focus in cyber threat intelligence or closely related fields (e.g., nation-state threat analysis, advanced persistent threats, intelligence analysis within government or large enterprises)
  • Deep understanding of the cyber threat landscape, including various threat actors, attack vectors, and emerging threats
  • Extensive experience in creating and leveraging formal networks across diverse groups
  • Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and contribute to broader organizational projects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing malware, network traffic, vulnerabilities, and other indicators of compromise
  • Proven experience with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs), security information and event management (SIEM) systems, and other relevant security tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Experience mentoring and providing expert guidance to other analysts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to be on-call to provide strategic support and guidance during critical incidents and non-traditional hours

Responsibilities

  • Apply exceptionally broad and deep expertise in multiple specialized areas of cyber threat intelligence (e.g., specific threat actor analysis, advanced persistent threats, critical infrastructure threats, intelligence fusion, automation at scale)
  • Lead and contribute to the development of strategic company objectives and principles related to cyber threat intelligence, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the organization's security posture
  • Work on significant and unique threat intelligence challenges where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of intangible factors, such as attacker intent, geopolitical implications, and long-term campaign objectives
  • Employ advanced conceptual thinking to understand the intricate and long-term implications of complex cyber threats and intelligence findings
  • Exercise a high degree of independent judgment in selecting and adapting methodologies, techniques, and evaluation criteria to address novel and complex threat intelligence challenges
  • Be accountable for the results of critical threat intelligence projects and initiatives, which may have a significant impact on the overall security function and business operations
  • Proactively create and cultivate formal networks with key contacts across various internal teams (e.g., executive leadership, legal, public relations, engineering) and external organizations (e.g., industry groups, government agencies, ISACs) to enhance intelligence sharing and collaboration
  • Provide thought leadership and contribute to broader organizational projects that require a deep understanding of the wider business context and potential impact of cyber threats
  • Convey highly advanced and nuanced threat intelligence information and persuasively influence diverse stakeholders and audiences, including executive briefings and presentations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Serve as a recognized internal subject matter expert on critical and complex cyber threat intelligence topics, providing authoritative guidance and insights
  • Mentor and provide expert guidance to other analysts, potentially directing their activities on specific projects or initiatives
  • Drive the development and implementation of innovative threat intelligence methodologies, tools, and processes to significantly enhance the team's capabilities
  • Anticipate future threat trends and proactively develop intelligence strategies to address them
  • Lead the development of complex analytical models and frameworks to understand and predict cyber threats

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and data analysis tools is highly desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding of security frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, Kill Chain)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., GCTI, GCIA, GCIH) are a plus
  • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence
