Senior Statistical Machine Learning Engineer

Summary

Join Datadog and contribute to the development of our Continuous Profiling analysis engine, a crucial component of our platform that processes trillions of data points daily. You will own and evolve the continuous profiler insights and recommendations, analyzing their performance and developing new ones. Collaboration with various Datadog AI teams and profiling teams is essential to design and implement innovative product features. This role requires a deep understanding of statistical methods and machine learning, experience with large-scale analysis, and a passion for performance optimization. Requirements

• You have a deep understanding of statistical methods and classical machine learning techniques
• You’ve successfully delivered a customer-facing, large-scale analysis experience
• You care about performance and have experience in measuring and optimizing algorithms and code
• You enjoy working in a fast-moving, high-growth startup environment

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the continuous profiler insights and recommendations
• Analyze and evaluate the performance of insights and recommendations
• Develop new insights and recommendations
• Collaborate with various Datadog AI Teams, such as AI Code Generation and Data Science
• Collaborate with profiling teams to design and implement innovative product features
• Advise on algorithms and techniques that balance the trade-offs between statistical accuracy and real-world computational constraints

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing statistical heuristics and sampling methods
• You have hands-on experience with generative AI
• Proficiency in optimizing the performance of applications, frameworks, or libraries
• Java development experience
