Senior System Safety Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Systems Safety Engineer in the autonomous vehicle industry, working remotely. The role involves leading interdisciplinary teams to create safety-critical systems and constructing a safety case for an autonomous vehicle operating in an outdoor, industrial environment. The candidate should have a background in functional safety and experience developing safety-critical systems.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical disciplines
• Several years of experience developing safety-critical systems
• Experience leading an interdisciplinary team in the development and fielding of a robotic system or autonomous vehicle with safety-critical components
• Knowledge of safety standards in the development and fielding of complex autonomous systems (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 25119, UL 4600, ANSI 15.08 )
• Experience constructing a safety case for a complex autonomous system including safety-related artifacts such as Hazard Analyses (HARAs), FMEAs, or FTAs
• Ability to articulate technical issues and solutions to all levels of the business, within and beyond the engineering communities
