Senior Test Automation Engineer

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in test automation, with expertise in component and system-level testing
• Proficiency in Java and JavaScript for developing test scripts and automating workflows
• Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar, using Gherkin syntax
• Advanced expertise and understanding of Kafka-based architectures, including message queues, topics, producers, and consumers
• Experience in microservices testing - Java Spring Boot applications, including RESTful APIs
• Experience with automation tools like Playwright, RestAssured, or similar; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for validating data integrity and persistence
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Proficiency in Polish and English language

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and optimize automated test scripts for both individual components and system-wide test scenarios
• Partner closely with developers, QA teams, and product stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure thorough test coverage
• Promote and implement Shift-Left testing practices within the project to identify and address issues early
• Leverage a Gherkin-based framework to design and run automated test cases effectively
• Develop and sustain testing strategies for Kafka-driven data pipelines, focusing on verifying message transformations, data enrichments, and quality checks
• Craft test scenarios tailored to Java Spring microservices, with a focus on performance, scalability, and dependability
• Identify and resolve issues in test scripts and environments to enable seamless continuous testing processes
• Operate within an Agile framework, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Guide and support junior QA and automation engineers by sharing best practices and promoting a quality-centric mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data quality testing tools or libraries
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Preferable Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Supply chain domain knowledge
