Senior UI Designer

Summary

Join Shift Paradigm's dynamic team as a Senior UI Designer and play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional digital experiences. You will be responsible for owning the design process while adapting to client needs, presenting confidently, and collaborating effectively. The ideal candidate possesses strong visual design skills, understands visual systems and best practices, and can translate client needs into impactful solutions. A minimum of 5 years of experience in UI design is required, along with a strong online portfolio showcasing B2B and B2C work. The position offers a negotiable compensation based on experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in-house or at agencies post-graduation as a UI designer
• An available online portfolio showcasing relevant real-world work and demonstrating innovative, user-centered visual design solutions for B2B and B2C clients
• Experience in design tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, and Google Slides

Responsibilities

• Own and follow a design process, adapting to clients' unique needs
• Confidently present ideas and skillsets in creative reviews and interact with clients, stakeholders, and peers
• Utilize constructive feedback to improve the final product
• Push the boundaries of visual design, leveraging knowledge of visual systems and best practices
• Take projects from concept and visualization to deliverable projects
• Understand visual systems and best practices, including layout and typography, and demonstrate a keen eye for pushing visual design forward
• Visualize experiences abstractly and translate that vision into concise deliverables
• Intuitively understand client needs and balance them with current trends and guidelines
• Connect and communicate client pain points and problems with solutions and business impact
• See the bigger picture of project goals and follow through with the design process

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with design systems and component libraries
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines
• Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to stakeholders and team members
• Experience partnering with technical product and engineering teams for design implementation
• A stunning portfolio which includes B2B and B2C brands
• Exceptional attention to detail; proficiency in typography, composition, imagery, iconography, and color theory
• Experience designing within a brand language and the ability to articulate design choices based on brand guidelines
• Experience collaborating with a UX team and working with research, personas, journey maps, user flows, and wireframes
• A good understanding of current design patterns and guidelines for both mobile and web, and the ability to create a coherent cross-device experience
• Ability to design with best-in-class mobile and web interactions/movement
