Join Included Health's Frontend Developer Platform team and contribute to improving the developer experience and building high-impact internal tools. As a Platform Engineer, you will identify and solve pain points in frontend workflows, build and maintain internal tools and frameworks, and champion best practices. You will collaborate with various teams, mentor engineers, and research emerging technologies. The role requires substantial frontend development experience with modern frameworks and a strong understanding of API design and performance optimization. Requirements
- Frontend Development Expertise - Substantial experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
- API Design and Integration - Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs, including designing client-side data fetching patterns and optimizing API interactions
- Frontend Performance Optimization - Strong understanding of performance profiling, browser rendering behavior, and strategies for improving application speed and efficiency
- Testing Frameworks - Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing tools such as Jest, Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright
- Cross-Functional Collaboration β Experience working across team and organizational boundaries; experience working closely with backend, infrastructure, product, and design teams
- Technical Writing and Documentation β Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and tutorials to drive adoption of tools and best practices
- Emerging Technology Evaluation β Experience researching, evaluating, and advocating for new frontend technologies or tools to improve team productivity
- 5+ years experience in a professional development environment
Responsibilities
- Identify pain points in frontend web development workflows and implement solutions to improve developer productivity and happiness
- Build and maintain internal tools, libraries, and frameworks that enhance frontend development efficiency across the company
- Define and advocate for SDLC best practices tailored to frontend development, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability
- Champion performance monitoring, logging, and error-tracking best practices to enhance application reliability and maintainability
- Conduct workshops, create documentation, and mentor engineers to drive adoption of frontend best practices across teams
- Research emerging frontend technologies, assess their applicability to the organization, and guide their adoption when beneficial
