Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience , with a focus on plugin development
  • Strong expertise in Object-Oriented PHP and familiarity with SOLID principles
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and React JS , especially within the context of the Block Editor (Gutenberg)
  • Deep understanding of WordPress core, hooks, filters, shortcodes, custom post types, taxonomies, REST API , and plugin architecture
  • Experience building Gutenberg blocks using React and JSX
  • Familiarity with WP-CLI , custom cron jobs, caching strategies, and WordPress multisite
  • Experience using Git in a team development environment
  • Strong focus on performance optimization , security best practices, and maintainable architecture
  • Comfortable working in a remote, asynchronous team environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom WordPress plugins using modern Object-Oriented PHP and WordPress APIs
  • Build interactive, scalable admin interfaces using React JS and the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg)
  • Architect plugin features that integrate with REST APIs, third-party services, and internal platforms
  • Ensure plugins follow WordPress coding standards, performance best practices, and security guidelines
  • Maintain and improve existing plugins, fixing bugs, optimizing performance, and enhancing features
  • Collaborate with design, front-end, and DevOps teams to ship features quickly and efficiently
  • Write comprehensive documentation and maintain clean, well-commented code
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and long-term product planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building SaaS integrations with WordPress
  • Familiarity with tools like Composer , Webpack , Vite , or Laravel Mix
  • Prior work on plugins available in the WordPress.org repo or as premium products
  • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)
  • Contributions to WordPress Core, themes, or plugins
