Signaling Software Engineer

Summary

Join Soracom as a Signaling Software Engineer to develop and operate software for their mobile core network, which supports their communication services. This role involves developing components of the mobile core network, ensuring early detection and quick recovery from failures, defining specifications, selecting necessary technology and infrastructure, and continuously improving and releasing the system.

Requirements

• Experience in developing and operating large traffic systems on server-side
• Experience with statically typed programming languages like Go, Java, or TypeScript
• Knowledge and experience with related databases, caching, messaging technologies
• Knowledge and experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring tools
• Basic network programming knowledge (TCP, UDP, HTTP REST API)
• Basic English proficiency for conducting meetings and communicating via email and chat

Responsibilities

• Develop software for each component of the mobile core network
• Ensure early detection and quick recovery from failures, and take responsibility in case of emergencies
• Define specifications, select necessary technology and infrastructure, and operate the system
• Improve and release the system based on user feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of protocols used in mobile core networks
• Experience in operating large networks
• Experience in reading and implementing industry standards (RFC)
• Experience in responding to RFPs based on customer requirements
• Knowledge and experience with RESTful APIs and microservice architecture
• Experience with AWS
• Entrepreneurial or startup experience
