Summary

Join VetsEZ as a full-time remote Expert DevOps Engineer to contribute to a Department of Veterans Affairs project. You will be a key member of the foundational team, engaging with Health Service Mesh consumers and providing service consultation to development teams. This role requires expertise in healthcare data standards, VA infrastructure, and cloud-native environments. Candidates must reside within the continental U.S. and possess a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience. Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Have 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD, Microservices, and Containerization
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Java, API development (RESTful, web services), and Cloud Native environments
  • Possess expertise in healthcare data standards such as FHIR and HL7 for interoperability and compliance
  • Have in-depth knowledge of VistA, VA infrastructure, IAM, VA Profile, and integrations with Cerner
  • Have hands-on experience in monitoring, security, database management, and tools like AKRON, RPS, and KAFKA
  • Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to solve complex issues
  • Have excellent communication skills with experience in documentation and presentations

Responsibilities

  • Serve on the foundational team that engages with Health Service Mesh (HSM) consumers, ensuring optimal data access
  • Act as a Service Consultant, providing strategic feedback and guidance on services that expose VistA data
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize the delivery of services to HSM consumers
  • Review and provide insights on proposed architectures
  • Share in-depth knowledge of VA infrastructure and best practices with cross-functional teams
  • Support service teams in transitioning to a Cloud Native approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience with SAFe/Agile Software Development practices
  • Have the ability to obtain a government security clearance
