Software Architect

Summary

Join 66degrees, a leading consulting firm specializing in AI-focused solutions, as a senior contractor for a 21-week remote assignment (40 hours/week) with potential extension. This role requires extensive experience in microservices architecture, cloud-native application development, and full-stack development (with a stronger backend focus). You will design, architect, and implement solutions, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and establish CI/CD pipelines. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of distributed systems and proficiency in Java and at least one other language (JavaScript, Python, or Typescript).

Requirements

• Possess 8+ years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing microservices architecture
• Have 5+ years of experience in designing architecture
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of software architecture in distributed systems
• Be able to conduct code reviews and mentor software engineers
• Have 5+ years of experience in developing cloud-native applications
• Possess experience in both front-end and back-end development (must have deeper experience in backend development, but familiarity and exposure with full-stack development required)
• Be proficient in Java
• Be proficient in one of the following: JavaScript, Python, or Typescript
• Be proficient in developing applications on the Google Cloud Platform suite of products and services (or equivalent cloud), primarily with serverless architectures
• Be familiar with unit testing and test-driven development (TDD)
• Be familiar with the scrum process and Git
• Have experience establishing CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery
• Have a background in professional services/consulting
• Possess strong communication skills
• Be eager to work in a collaborative environment
