Software Developer

Summary

Join Xometry's expanding IT team as a Software Developer to maintain, improve, and expand CAD add-ons for SolidWorks and Fusion 360. You will develop and optimize backend services using Python, enhance the frontend experience using TypeScript, and develop the SolidWorks add-in client-side using .NET technologies. Troubleshooting, debugging, and collaborating with product managers and designers are key aspects of this role. This is a freelance/consultant position, initially full-time for one month, then approximately 40 hours per month, working remotely. Requirements

• Proven experience in developing CAD integrations or add-ons ( SolidWorks / Fusion 360 preferred)
• Proficiency in: Python (FastAPI, Fusion 360 API)
• Proficiency in: TypeScript (frontend development)
• Proficiency in: .NET (for SolidWorks client-side add-in)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve, and expand CAD add-ons for SolidWorks and Fusion 360
• Develop and optimize backend services using Python (FastAPI, Fusion 360 API)
• Enhance the frontend experience using TypeScript
• Develop the SolidWorks add-in client-side using .NET technologies
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal system performance
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to create innovative solutions
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with CAD systems
• Understanding of 3D modeling concepts and engineering workflows
• Exposure to DevOps , CI/CD pipelines , or cloud infrastructure
