As a motivated intern in the Finance team, you will support the development and automation of power sourcing, hedging, and trading processes. Your work will involve automating data processing, improving the codebase, building Tableau dashboards, and potentially enhancing hedging and forecasting methodologies. Requirements
- Student enrolled in computer science, or similar
- Coding experience in Python and SQL
- Familiar with unit testing, basic principles in software engineering and database design
- You have very good organizational and communication skills in English (B2-C1), both written and spoken
- You have a hands-on mentality and enjoy working in a young and dynamic environment
- You have strong teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Automate our data processing with daily/monthly jobs on AWS and define the database structure to store input data and results of our hedging process
- Constant improvement of our existing code base, adhering to best practices in software engineering, including unit testing
- Build beautiful Tableau dashboards for data analysis and hedging process monitoring
- Depending on skillset: Improve our hedging and forecasting methodology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Tableau
- Knowledge of the German energy market, especially regarding sourcing, hedging and pricing
- You have an understanding of stock markets (e.g. future, spot and intraday markets) and derivative products (e.g. futures/forwards & options)
- Good knowledge of applied mathematics / data science (e.g., statistics, linear algebra, (convex) optimization, machine learning)
