Summary

Join 540 as a Software Engineer supporting USCIS, building applications using modern open-source technologies on AWS. Requirements

  • Be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Have 2+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Demonstrate a strong foundation of programming concepts, object-oriented design and data structures
  • Have experience programming with Java / Spring
  • Have experience programming with JavaScript
  • Have RESTful API / data-driven web application experience
  • Possess familiarity with cloud platforms or deployment processes (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Docker)
  • Have basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks quickly
  • Possess strong communication and collaboration skills for working in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Build applications using modern open source technologies hosted on AWS
  • Provide architecture design, development, security and operations services in support of USCIS Integration Services
  • Assist with the seamless and accurate exchange of information from different systems by facilitating the transfer of data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understand front-end development principles and have experience working with frameworks like React or Angular
  • Have experience with version control systems like Git
  • Have knowledge of Agile or Scrum development methodologies
  • Have experience working with the government, specifically with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
