Software Engineer

Summary

Join Dialpad's Hardware Team as a Hardware Engineer, developing software solutions and integrations that interface with VoIP devices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to combine traditional hardware solutions with Dialpad's cloud communication platform.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience as a Software Engineer
• Hands-on experience with Python or other relevant structured language
• Experience working with both Front End and Back End technologies
• Experience working with Databases
• Expertise with Unit Testing
• Familiarity with Networking protocols (TCP, UDP)
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions and integrations that interface with VoIP devices, including IP Phones, SIP adapters, ATA adapters, and DECT base stations
• Design and implement features and improvements for device management, provisioning, activation, and control in the UI
• Troubleshoot production/customer related issues with devices
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure the robustness of the devices integration management software
• Maintain code quality by reviewing peers' code
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and cross-functional engineering teams to understand the requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Work closely with QA through the entire lifecycle of a feature
• Work on self-development and continuous self-improvement to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies in the field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python, Javascript, and Vue
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP and AWS)
• Experience with VoIP
• Understanding of low-level networking (SIP, TCP, UDP)
• Experience working with Support Teams (customer agents)
