Software Engineer

Summary

Join Owkin's Research Platform team as a Platform Engineer and contribute to building and maintaining a robust research platform for data scientists and researchers. You will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, focusing on SageMaker and other machine learning tools. Collaborate with researchers to understand their needs and implement solutions to enhance productivity. Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, development workflows, and security practices. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud computing, machine learning infrastructure, and software engineering. The position is based in Paris, Nantes, London offices or remotely in France and the UK.

Requirements

• Significant experience as software or cloud engineer: this is an intermediate level position
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Demonstrated attention to quality and software engineering processes
• Experience with either Python or Golang
• Experience with terraform and AWS services
• Familiar with Kubernetes and OCI

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services on AWS, with a focus on SageMaker and other machine learning tools
• Contribute to the evolution of our platform architecture to support emerging needs in AI/ML research, federated learning, and large-scale data processing
• Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to understand their needs and implement solutions that enhance their productivity
• Support and improve our CI/CD pipelines, development workflows, and security practices
• Participate in incident response and platform support to ensure high availability and reliability
