Software Engineer

Summary

Join Shields Health Solutions as a Software Engineer and contribute to the growth and evolution of ETL and data management within our Engineering team. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless data integration and drive positive patient outcomes. This role requires expertise in Java, SQL, PL/pgSQL, Bash/Linux, and Python, along with experience in RDBMS backend development and enterprise-grade production environments. The ideal candidate will possess a background in data warehousing, machine learning, and batch processing. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years Application Development involving RDBMS backend
• 3+ years working in an enterprise-grade production environment for SDLC deployments and issue support
• Hands-on experience with Java (Springboot and Hibernate)
• Hands-on experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other RDBMS)
• Hands-on experience with PL/pgSQL
• Hands-on experience with Bash/Linux
• Hands-on experience with Python (Pandas preferred)

Responsibilities

• Grow and evolve ETL and data management in the Engineering team
• Integrate partner and reference data daily to drive Shields' Legendary Care model
• Collaborate regularly with end-users, analysts, devOps, and other engineers
• Perform necessary transformations to load data into a PostgreSQL RDBMS ecosystem
• Deploy code according to established SDLC principles in a HIPAA regulated business

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ReactJS
• Knowledge of Apache Spark
• Knowledge of Informatica/Talend
• Knowledge of Git/Bitbucket or other source code control
• Knowledge of Production Scheduling - crontab, Airflow
• Knowledge/experience with HIPAA-compliant data management of PHI
• Knowledge/experience with Pharmaceutical data structures (HL7 and FHIR)
• Knowledge/experience with Atlassian Jira
• Knowledge/experience with Atlassian Confluence
