Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Backend Engineer at Solacom who will construct and operate business systems to support various Solacom services. The engineer will work on designing, building, and operating billing/payment systems, device delivery systems, internal business systems, and continuously improving and releasing systems based on user feedback.

Requirements

• Experience in implementing business logic using Java
• Ability to define appropriate specifications with the business side and implement, test them
• 3 years or more of experience in designing, implementing, and operating business systems
• Knowledge and experience in designing libraries and frameworks
• Ability to work independently and try out solutions
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English for communication within the global team and with colleagues

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate billing/payment systems for services provided in Japan and globally
• Design, build, and operate device delivery systems
• Design, build, and operate internal business systems
• Continuously improve and release systems based on user feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in implementing business logic using statically typed languages
• Experience in infrastructure setup and operation on AWS or Azure
• Experience in building systems using Hadoop or Spark distributed processing frameworks
• Knowledge and experience with payment services and products
• Experience working in startups or entrepreneurship
