Software Engineer, Full Stack

Summary

Join Headspace's B2B team as a Software Engineer, Full Stack, and contribute to the development and maintenance of eligibility and enrollment systems for enterprise and SME customers. You will be part of the Employer Platform team, designing and building the next-generation enterprise platform, playing a key role in scaling partnerships and internal capabilities. This US-remote position requires designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications, writing efficient code, and collaborating throughout the development lifecycle. You will build web apps and APIs using TypeScript/Node.js on AWS and evaluate system designs for scalability. The role offers a chance to impact over 65 million users and work with cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building APIs, microservices, and web applications
• Proficient in API development with Python/Django and/or TypeScript/Node.js
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React or Next.js, and state management libraries like Redux
• Strong collaboration skills in remote environments; comfortable partnering across product, design, and engineering
• Familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, and CI/CD systems
• Excellent communication and technical decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems
• Write well-designed, testable, performant, and efficient code
• Contribute across the development lifecycle, from collaborating with product stakeholders to writing tech specs and deploying features
• Build web apps and APIs, primarily using TypeScript/Node.js on AWS
• Evaluate system designs for operational feasibility and long-term scalability
• Partner closely with product and engineering teams to release features at scale

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with a BS/MS in Computer Science
• Experience building healthcare or B2B platforms
• Strong understanding of relational databases, OOP, and scalable web architecture
