Summary
Join Scout Motors and become a Software Engineer, playing a key role in developing and enhancing software products from concept to deployment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Troubleshoot and debug issues, optimize application performance, and stay updated on emerging technologies. This remote role (excluding NYC) occasionally requires in-person meetings and travel. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience as a Fullstack Software Engineer or similar role
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with one or more JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, and/or server-side development using technologies like Golang, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar
- Strong understanding of databases and SQL, with experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the full software stack
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in both front-end and back-end systems
- Optimize application performance and ensure security best practices are followed
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in software development
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning sessions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Hands on experience building on AWS using React, Go and/or Python
- Experience building consumer facing applications
