Summary
Join ExtraHop's Cloud team as a Software Engineer III and play a key role in shaping our cloud infrastructure, leading automation efforts, and driving best-in-class security practices. You will work alongside talented engineers to build and enhance high-performance cloud systems. This role involves tackling complex technical challenges, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to strategic initiatives. You will architect and develop secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud services. This is an opportunity to make a real impact and advance your career in cloud technology for cybersecurity. The salary range is 130,000-160,000 + bonus + benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a focus on cloud infrastructure
- Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or equivalent languages, with expertise in designing scalable, distributed systems
- Deep understanding of container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code principles (Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm)
- Experience building and operating production-grade cloud services, with a focus onAWS (EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, EC2, IAM)
- Strong problem-solving skills, a self-starter mentality, and a track record of technical ownership
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in fast-paced, agile environments
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop secure scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud services, ensuring high availability and system resilience
- Lead automation efforts for infrastructure and operational processes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes, driving efficiency and reducing manual interventions
- Enhance cloud security and compliance, implementing best practices for IAM, encryption, and access controls across cloud environments
- Optimize system performance and reliability through monitoring, logging and proactive incident resolution strategies
- Drive DevOps best practices, improving CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment processes to support frequent, reliable releases
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers across teams, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence
- Stay at the forefront of cloud technologies, evaluating and integrating new tools to continuously improve capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in cloud security best practices, including identity management, encryption, and compliance frameworks
- Experience designing and scaling high-availability distributed systems with automated failover and self-healing capabilities
- Deep knowledge of monitoring, logging and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Hands-on experience with serverless architectures and event-driven microservices
- Familiarity with HashiCorp tools (Vault, Consul, Packer) and cloud-native networking
