Summary

Join Parity's Front and Integrations Team as a TypeScript/Rust Engineer! You'll design, build, and maintain tools and libraries for Substrate-based blockchains like Polkadot. Contribute to projects like EVM compatibility testing and the development of wallet and API tools. This remote-first role requires strong TypeScript skills, experience with open-source projects, and an interest in blockchain technology and the EVM. You'll work with a distributed team, focusing on TypeScript (80%) and Rust (20%). Requirements

  • Work autonomously and function well in a distributed team
  • Be an excellent communicator; conveying ideas clearly, helping others, sharing regular progress updates and raising concerns and blockers quickly
  • Take an interest in blockchain technology in general and Substrate/Polkadot in particular
  • Have prior experience or interest in working with the EVM and deploying/running smart contracts
  • Have demonstrable experience in TypeScript, in particular open source projects, and keen to grow and improve in this area
  • Take an interest in the Rust programming language, its community and values
  • Have a good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, HTTP and WebSockets, and demonstrable experience building HTTP based APIs and clients

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain TypeScript-based tools/libraries to help internal/external teams build, debug, instrument and manage substrate-based blockchains
  • Gradually take ownership of different areas of our codebases and projects
  • Contribute to our TypeScript projects (approximately 80% of your time) and our Rust projects (approximately 20% of your time)
