Summary

Join Twilio as our next Senior Engineer (L3), Backend and help build and scale systems processing hundreds of thousands of messages per second and billions of data points per hour for Twilio Engage, the world's first growth platform powered by customer data. You will build multi-tenant query engines, scale data pipelines and compute clusters, and build highly performant solutions. This role requires 4+ years of experience in production-grade code, strong data and streaming technology experience, and excellent communication skills. Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language
  • Strong theoretical fundamentals and hands-on experience working with data and streaming technologies
  • Highly effective collaborator who works well with teammates and product partners to deliver completed work on time
  • Well-versed in concurrent programming
  • Solid grasp of Linux systems and networking concepts
  • Experience maintaining and operating always-on cloud services
  • Comfortable asking questions and taking initiative to solve problems in a rapidly growing company, where it is often necessary to β€œ draw the owl ”
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Build multi-tenant query engines that power the leading customer data platform (CDP)
  • Scale our data pipelines and compute clusters to match growing customer demand
  • Build highly performant solutions that unlock differentiated CDP capabilities at scale
  • Maintain a high bar of operational excellence for our systems and services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Apache Flink, Trino, Spark, or other distributed compute frameworks
  • Experience with Golang
  • Experience managing and operating AWS infrastructure
  • Experience working in a geographically distributed team
