Remote Software Engineering Intern

Summary

First Help Financial is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern for a remote position. The intern will collaborate with senior engineers, gain expertise on the Loan Originating platform, build internal REST based Middleware and webservices, work with cross-functional teams, and more. The intern should be pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, have experience with Java or Python, JavaScript frameworks like React and Angular, OOD/OOP, data structures, and algorithm analysis.

Requirements

• Pursuing a master’s degree (at time of internship) in Computer Science or related field
• Full Stack Development/Experience
• Exposure to web application development and SQL databases
• Experience with Java or Python
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React and Angular
• Exposure to OOD/OOP, data structures, and algorithm analysis

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the senior engineers and quality assurance to design, develop and deliver software products that impact the growth of the company portfolio
• Gaining expertise on the Loan Originating platform to design, configure and build new solutions as per business requirements
• Building and maintaining internal REST based Middleware and webservices
• Working with Product Owner and UX designer to provide best-in-class user experience by developing interactive UI components
• Creating an automated developer unit test process and framework
• Working with the Data Science and Analytics team to integrate with Machine Learning models to improve the Auto Decisioning capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices
• Experience in Fintech application development is a plus
