Summary

Tapcheck is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead its team in developing web applications for Employers. The role involves optimizing the scalability, stability, and efficiency of web applications, REST services, and backend processes. The position is remote-friendly and requires candidates to be based in specific states.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • 5+ years of hiring and managing onshore and offshore engineering team members
  • Experience in breaking down monolithic architecture to improve scalability, stability and delivery efficiency
  • Experience in partnering with product and support
  • Experience managing high-volume, scalable, complex, public-facing systems
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Microsoft .NET and SQL database
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing
  • 5+ years of agile development
  • Experience in Financial Technology: payroll, payments, e-commerce, etc
  • Experience with SOC 2 or PCI compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, and develop a world-class team to support the growing customer base
  • Manage and scale a full-stack development team comprised of onshore and offshore team members
  • Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance as both manager and mentor
  • Own all operational metrics and support
  • Lead, advance, and develop the company’s engineering processes for product design, review, and release for improved project profitability
  • Be a hands-on leader who is technically involved and helps drive initiatives
  • Define, manage, and enforce engineering standards and methods according to industry best practices
  • Coordinate multiple projects across multiple departments and drive innovative solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Financial Technology: payroll, payments, ecommerce, etc
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience working on and supporting high volume traffic web applications
