Software Engineering Tech Lead

Summary

Join Whatnot, a livestream shopping platform and marketplace, as a Staff Software Engineer in Growth. You will lead engineers to design and implement incentivized buyer growth strategies, build scalable systems, and deliver significant business impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience building E-commerce products
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience building scalable systems (we primarily use Python, Elixir, JavaScript)
• Experience leading engineers to deliver significant business impact
• Proven track record of delivering features. You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast
• Excellent cross functional team communications
• Excellent product instincts. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution
• Self motivated, relentlessly focused on impact and able to operate under great deal of independence
• Excellent problem solver and don’t need to be told exactly what to do
• Good communication skills in both written and verbal English

Responsibilities

• Build out our core Incentivized buyer growth strategy
• Lead other engineers to design and implement our core incentive management system from the ground up
• Have big ownership and velocity in order to significantly impact the company top-line metrics
