Summary

Join Planet's Professional Services team in Europe as a Solutions Architect, implementing and integrating new software and data products for government customers. You will build and maintain APIs, understand client needs, analyze usage metrics, and leverage analytical skills to deliver products. This full-time, in-office position in Mons, Belgium, requires 6+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years supporting NATO and/or DoD/IC customers. You will work with multiple internal teams to develop scripts and analyze data products for delivery to end users. Your work will be highly visible, directly impacting customers' ability to quickly access Planet's unprecedented datasets and streamline internal processes for adding new customers to our platform. Requirements

  • Computer science, software/systems engineering or related degree
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience of which 5+ of these years is experience supporting NATO and/or DoD/IC customers
  • Specialized, relevant technical experience in the general areas of systems integration and intelligence analysis
  • Fluent in Golang, Python, Postgresql, & React or related technologies
  • Experience with cloud deployments; GCP, AWS, Azure
  • Experience designing and evolving public-facing APIs
  • Experience with solving complex problems through analytical skills
  • Experience scaling and maintaining production systems

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain APIs which serve our enterprise and federal customers
  • Understanding client’s needs and delivering tailored solutions
  • Help define, create and analyze usage metrics to drive customer growth
  • Leverage analytical skills to deliver products to our federal customers and support mission requirements
  • Participate in team on-call rotation to support production services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current NATO Secret Clearance
  • Systems integrations experience working with multi-domain/multi-level security architectures with the USG, particularly in NATO
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and its mapping libraries (OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS API for JavaScript), Google Earth Engine and its SDK
  • Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQL) and distributed databases (NoSQL)
  • Experience in geopolitics and data science
  • Ability to pick up new technologies quickly
  • Experience with building analytical products from complex datasets
  • Experience with geospatial technologies and data
  • GEOINT experience, imagery exploitation and analysis
