Requirements

  • Have full Australian work rights
  • Be registered as a Speech Pathologist with SPA or be eligible to obtain registration
  • Have a degree in Speech Pathology
  • Have a current driver’s license and vehicle
  • Have a police check and Working with Children check (or the ability to obtain these before commencing work)
  • Be committed to positive client outcomes and improving the lives of clients and their families
  • Be a supportive team player
  • Be focused on person-centered, ethical interventions

Responsibilities

  • Further develop your knowledge and skills as a Speech Pathologist to support adults and children with a variety of presentations
  • Support clients with literacy, speech and language disorders, social skills through to mealtime management and AAC assessment and prescriptions
  • Have a varied caseload
  • Participate in a 12-week intensive induction program with therapy managers and team leaders
  • Learn from experienced and supportive therapists
  • Have a reduced caseload for the first 3 months
  • Receive support from a clinical supervisor during client sessions for the first 12 months
  • Participate in quarterly professional development sessions
  • Receive monthly coaching from clinic mentors
  • Receive support from an allocated buddy
  • Participate in weekly clinical 1:1 supervision for the initial 4 months, progressing to fortnightly and monthly supervision
  • Participate in regular catch-ups and training with the graduate team
  • Observe experienced clinicians from all disciplines in therapy sessions
  • Access the online learning and training library
  • Receive ongoing supervision, training, and support from the team
