Summary

Join Radformation as a Senior Applied Research Scientist to develop novel radiotherapy algorithms and improve cancer care globally. This remote position requires a PhD in a related field, at least 5 years of experience in Monte Carlo dose calculation algorithm development for Radiotherapy, strong programming skills, communication abilities, organizational skills, strategic thinking, writing and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • PhD in related field and at least 5 years experience in Monte Carlo dose calculation algorithm development for Radiotherapy
  • Deep understanding of Monte Carlo simulation methods used for dose calculation in Radiotherapy
  • Deep understanding of traditional dose calculation methods (Pencil Beam, CVSP, etc)
  • Able to formulate experiment design and run experiments while developing new algorithms and technology
  • Able to stay current with state-of-the-art algorithmic techniques
  • Experience conceiving, implementing, and maintaining clinically used software solutions

Responsibilities

  • Take technical ownership of Radformation proprietary dose calculation algorithms
  • Work with research and product teams to create new radiotherapy products and algorithms
  • Test and benchmark Radformation proprietary algorithms against industry standard algorithms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of programming concepts with experience using a modern language
  • Ability to actively communicate with customers and other staff members
  • Ability to aggregate feedback and requests from clinicians to identify general problems solvable through automated methodologies
