Summary

The job is for a Senior Assessment Editor (Social Studies) at Instructure. The role involves creating, reviewing, and revising assessment items based on state social studies standards and grade-level appropriateness. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in social studies education or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience developing student assessment content products (as a writer or editor), including item banks and standardized assessments, with an educational provider or at the state level
  • Mastery level understanding of social studies student curriculum expectations and state learning standards (expertise in U.S. History content strongly preferred)
  • Experience working within an assessment management system to author and edit tech-enhanced and traditional items
  • Critical thinker and problem solver who appropriately gives and receives constructive feedback
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a strict code of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined work style

Responsibilities

  • Create, review, format, and revise test items based on alignment to state social studies standards and grade-level appropriateness
  • Review assessments for multiple grade levels and content areas across Social Studies
  • Align social studies items to state standards for multiple states
