Summary
The job is for a Senior Assessment Editor (Social Studies) at Instructure. The role involves creating, reviewing, and revising assessment items based on state social studies standards and grade-level appropriateness. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience and expertise in U.S. History.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in social studies education or related field
- At least 5 years of experience developing student assessment content products (as a writer or editor), including item banks and standardized assessments, with an educational provider or at the state level
- Mastery level understanding of social studies student curriculum expectations and state learning standards (expertise in U.S. History content strongly preferred)
- Experience working within an assessment management system to author and edit tech-enhanced and traditional items
- Critical thinker and problem solver who appropriately gives and receives constructive feedback
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a strict code of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined work style
Responsibilities
- Create, review, format, and revise test items based on alignment to state social studies standards and grade-level appropriateness
- Review assessments for multiple grade levels and content areas across Social Studies
- Align social studies items to state standards for multiple states
