The job description is for a remote HR Data & Analytics Consultant position at Analytica, a fast-growing private US small business that works with U.S. government customers in health, civilian, and national security missions. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analytics, specifically with human capital data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or any other quantitative field
  • 5+ years’ experience as a data analyst in projects involving implementation of data warehouse, data lake and Business Intelligence reports and dashboards, preferably using Microsoft SQL Server or Azure Data Engineering stack
  • 3+ years of experience with major data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse methodologies, dimensional modelling, ETL and data pipelines
  • Ability to create data flow diagrams and technical design documents
  • 4+ years of experience working with Federal human capital data, systems, and processes
  • 4+ years of experience with data analysis using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets
  • 2+ years’ experience with Agile Methodology
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) processes and translating multiple, complex human capital data sets into reports and dashboards
  • Understanding of technical issues in using analytical tools and experience assessing tools risks and opportunities to an organization
  • Experience in developing and validating statistical models and predictive analytics
  • Experience establishing data management and governance procedures

Responsibilities

  • Develops analytics solutions that are scalable, repeatable, effective, and meet the expectations of the decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Evaluates human capital data sources and resolves complex issues related to data collection and analysis
  • Develops data collection templates and requirements to ensure consistency and validity of data utilized
  • Evaluates HR data sources to identify potential improvement areas or recommendations; works to identify data linkages and narratives across HC functions
  • Maps and traces relevant data to both assess data quality and eliminate irrelevant data. Identifies missing data and recommends new data collection and correlation processes
  • Performs statistical analysis of workforce data. Analyzes and mines data from a variety of sources to identify patterns and correlations among the various data points
  • Provides recommendations of additional data elements to support future analytics
  • Recommends best practices methods and formats for future analytics, to include forecasting and predictive HC analytics
  • Perform queries and interpret business data requests to create efficient queries
  • Support stakeholders by developing advanced reporting and analytics
  • Trains stakeholders on new HC data and dashboard procedures or protocols and on the operation and maintenance of data sources
  • Assist users in choosing data sources and discovering new methods for achieving goals
