Summary

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building Android applications in Kotlin
• Mastery of Android frameworks (e.g. Jetpack Compose, StoreKit)
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Espresso and a commitment to writing tests for all code changes
• Proficiency in refactoring code with architectural patterns like MVVM
• Experience working with Kotlin Coroutines and Coroutine Flows
• A deep understanding of the Android SDK and platform and ongoing dedication to learning
• A track record of technical leadership and exceptional problem-solving skills
• Experience with Android App Performance optimization and metrics
• A track record of leading technical teams through positive change
• Experience successfully advocating architecture improvements to multidisciplinary stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead technical decisions for the HenryMeds product areas and the Android platform
• Help mentor other engineers and drive technical decisions
• Work closely with members from the Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing teams
• Assist in driving the team’s testing strategy, observability into success metrics, and codebase best practices
• Triage and prioritize platform issues so that they can be incorporated into the roadmap
• Champion the strategic direction and architectural vision of the Android platform, addressing technical challenges, driving initiatives for complex integrations, and large-scale project execution
• Lead and influence cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering, product, design, and other stakeholders
• Prioritize and manage the Android platform backlog, making strategic decisions on issue triage, prioritization, and grooming to balance immediate product goals with long-term platform health
• Set standards for code reviews and engineering processes
• Automate strategic parts of the development process
• Lead Android prototyping for groundbreaking new HenryMeds features
