Staff Backend Engineer, Integrations

As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping our backend architecture, scaling our systems, and driving high-impact engineering and product initiatives. You'll work cross-functionally to influence technical direction and mentor engineers, helping us build a world-class engineering team. The role requires 8+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in data engineering domains, and strong CS fundamentals. You will architect and scale backend systems, lead critical technical projects, design and optimize data processing pipelines, and collaborate with other teams. Mentoring engineers and improving system performance are also key responsibilities. Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience ideally in data engineering domains
• Strong CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and performance optimization
• Deep knowledge of backend technologies, including databases, orchestrators, messaging systems, data pipelines, and more
• Track record of technical leadership, leading complex projects, mentoring engineers, and setting engineering standards
• Experience with large-scale data ingestion and processing systems
• Has built/ owned ETL pipelines or data ingestion flows (eg: with Kafka, Spark etc)
• Understands data modeling and is comfortable with large data sets, thinks about cost/performance tradeoffs
• Drawn to an early-stage, high-growth startup environment with less stability and more ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale backend systems to support millions of users and transactions
• Lead and drive critical technical projects, ensuring long-term scalability, performance, and reliability
• Design and optimize complex data processing pipelines, distributed systems, and APIs
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other teams to align technical execution with business objectives
• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical excellence and best practices across the team
• Continuously improve system performance, observability, and maintainability

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally 2+ years experience in data intensive systems and exposure to crypto strongly preferred
