Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years of experience working with high volume data infrastructure, including 3+ years in data architecture roles
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide data architectures and frameworks
- Strong experience with Databricks, AWS, dbt, ETL and Job orchestration tooling
- Extensive experience programming in one of the following languages: Python / Java
- Deep expertise in data modeling, optimizing SQL queries, and system performance tuning
- Proficiency with SQL, AWS, Databases, Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, EMR, and Kinesis/Kafka
- Experience implementing AI/ML solutions within data infrastructure
- Experience with data security, role-based access control, and PII management
- Experience working with freemium models, tiered subscriptions, Subscription Billing Systems (Apple, Google, Recurly, Chargebee), integrations with systems like NetSuite Financials
- Experience in modern development lifecycle including Agile methodology, CI/CD, automated deployments using Terraform, GitHub Actions etc
- Strong knowledge of the latest open source and data frameworks, modern data platform tech stacks and tools
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and lead technical discussions
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-wide data architecture strategies that align with business objectives and technical requirements
- Develop reusable frameworks and tools that accelerate development time for the entire data engineering team
- Architect scalable data warehouse solutions that support our growing data volumes while maintaining performance
- Create and maintain data modeling standards and best practices for the organization
- Design, implement, and manage scalable data processing platforms used for real-time analytics and exploratory data analysis
- Manage our financial data from ingestion through ETL to storage and batch processing
- Architect and develop systems and algorithms for distributed real-time analytics and data processing
- Lead the integration of AI and machine learning capabilities into our data infrastructure to accelerate initiatives and improve automation
- Design and implement comprehensive role-based access control systems for data assets
- Develop frameworks and processes for PII management and data privacy compliance
- Establish data governance policies and ensure their implementation across the organization
- Define Data Contracts and Catalog to create a βData Firstβ environment and normalization of data usage and terminology throughout the organization
- Work to establish policies and norms for data quality pipelines and procedures to ensure data lineage and trust
- Create and maintain documentation for data security protocols and access management
- Mentor junior engineers, imparting best practices and institutionalizing efficient processes
- Collaborate with finance and analytics teams while applying best practices
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and frameworks to improve our data architecture
- Lead technical discussions and architecture reviews with stakeholders across the organization
