Summary
Join NBCUniversal's AdSmart Product Engineering Team as a Staff Data Science Engineer to build the platform and products for Universal Workstation. You will be responsible for data science engineering, enabling NBCUniversal to better understand its audiences across various brands. The goal is to align audiences with beneficial market advertisements. This role requires strong data science and software development skills, including experience with relational and non-relational databases, big data, and real-time technologies. You will work with a team to execute a product roadmap and analyze results, adjusting the engineering strategy accordingly. This is a fully remote position with competitive benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of software development experience
- 2+ years of experience with linear television or digital advertising technologies
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms
- Ability to apply data science theory to effectively to advertising & audience data
- Fluency in Python modeling
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts
- Experience in forecasting, deep learning, and machine learning techniques
- 5+ years of experience with both relational database design (SQL), non-relational (NoSQL), big data, real-time technologies
- Able to easily transition between high-level strategy and day-to-day implementation
- Native AWS experience Model building experience with GPU’s
- Experience with Bayesian Forecasting and Forecasting with Neural Networks
- Understanding of Set Theory and Cardinality Estimation
- Experience with Recurrent Neural Networks and Long Short-Term Memory Networks
- Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence
Responsibilities
- Serve as a staff data scientist for AdSmart data products
- Participate in, and execute, a product roadmap with input from the delivery team, and stakeholders
- Develop and code the data science services that is core to AdSmart, under the leadership and direction of the VP Architecture
- Analyze and report results and adjust the overall engineering strategy accordingly with engineering leadership
