Staff Data Scientist

Summary

Join ezCater as a Staff Data Scientist and play a pivotal role in developing and deploying data science and ML models to enhance our customer-facing product solutions. You will drive model development, prototyping, and iteration, ensuring tangible business value. Lead innovation in advanced data science methods, collaborating with various teams to integrate models into the customer experience. Develop predictive models, optimize existing ones, and explore new data sources and techniques. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills and a proven track record of leading and mentoring other data scientists. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in a related field and deep expertise in Python and SQL.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, performing statistical modeling and quantitative and technical analysis
• Background in B2B/B2C marketplace or e-commerce environments
• Deep expertise in Python and SQL required: Demonstrated ability to leverage Python and SQL for data science and machine learning applications
• Proven track record of ‘leading by example’ through collaboration, guidance, and mentoring of other data scientists & or analysts in employing methodologies and vetting applications for performance, accuracy and quality
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex concepts to non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Drive development, prototyping, and rapid iteration of models that are feeding data-driven intelligence in our products
• Ensure that our data science modeling efforts are aligned with company priorities and ensure they demonstrate tangible, measurable business value to prioritize where we should invest
• Be accountable for facilitating the transition of model development to our MLEs and establishing success criteria for the models in production
• Be on the leading edge of driving innovation of advanced data science methods and models at ezCater, identifying means to rapidly mature our data science practices throughout our product
• Partner with our ML team to integrate customer-centric data science models and algorithms into the customer experience in the most valuable and effective manner, including providing personalized experiences, recommendations, and features for users
• Develop predictive models to forecast user behavior, identify trends, and anticipate customer needs, contributing to data-driven decision-making in product development
• Develop, apply, and optimize models using cutting-edge techniques in data science and optimization to address complex business challenges
• Explore new data sources, techniques, and technologies to enhance the data science capabilities and contribute to innovation within the product development process
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, engineers, product managers, and the business to understand their needs and deliver data-science and machine-learning powered solutions
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and relevant industry trends, applying these insights to your work to move the company forward
