Requirements

  • Experience with different types of database technologies
  • Knowledge of operational best practices and database management
  • Proven track record of delivering results and leading growing, high-impact teams
  • At least 5 years experience of software development in distributed systems, architecting scalable microservices and data pipelines in a successful high-growth technology company
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience, including all the responsibilities listed above
  • A strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
  • Up to date knowledge and experience in the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Work with team of engineers focused on managing database and building custom services to automate database operations
  • Develop deep understanding of specific database technologies, and act in consultative capacity to effectively leverage the database
  • Architect scalable low-latency systems and data pipelines. Write code as needed to support the team
  • Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers within the backend distributed systems team
  • Make a positive impact on the team's productivity and growth
  • Promote software development best-practices and conduct rigorous code reviews
  • Rigorously identify and solve technical challenges
  • Conduct interviews to attract and identify potential high performing candidates
  • Balance and prioritize projects to maximize efficiency and ensure company objectives are achieved
