Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing and delivering electrical hardware
  • Demonstrated experience in FPGA bare metal development
  • Demonstrated experience with FPGA firmware development
  • Demonstrated experience with register transfer level (RTL) and gate level development
  • Familiarity with common bus protocols such as USB, MIPI CSI2, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, ethernet etc
  • High FPGA programming skills, Verilog synthesizable programming- Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL
  • Demonstrated experience with FPGA development tools such as Vitis and Vivado
  • Experience with embedded Linux kernel driver development
  • Proficiency in Python and C/C++
  • Ability to read and understand hardware circuit schematics
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with little input on requirements or management oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design FPGA core functions, digital and analog I/O, and high-performance processing capabilities
  • Estimate and maintain inputs to development and production schedule and status reports
  • Collaborate with other engineers to ensure the best product is delivered
  • Drive improvements to minimize cost and schedule while maximizing reliability and capability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 8+ years experience developing and/or producing FPGA based electronics for space applications
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and verifying signal processing algorithms targeting FPGA-based development platforms
  • Familiarity with UVM and System Verilog; ability to architect and build verification environments
  • Demonstrated experience in precision circuit timing
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical engineering tools such as LT Spice and Altium
  • Passion for the space industry

  • Base Salary: $180,000-$240,000
