Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field. Masters or Ph.D. preferred
  • At least 8 years experience as a machine learning engineer
  • Advanced proficiency with code writing: Python, Java etc
  • Familiar with cloud technologies: AWS, GCP etc
  • Extensive knowledge of ML frameworks, libraries, data structures, data modeling, and software architecture such as Sagemaker, HuggingFace, VertexAI, LLMs, etc
  • Knowledge of feature stores (Tecton, Feast, etc is nice to have)
  • In-depth understanding of mathematics, statistics, and algorithms
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Great communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities

Responsibilities

  • Design machine learning systems to automate predictive models using signals from the software development lifecycle process including calendars, source code control (SCM), integrated development environments (IDE) as well as user feedback
  • Transform business asks into ML solutions while leading a team through the execution of these solutions
  • Ensure that algorithms generate accurate user recommendations
  • Document machine learning processes
  • Keep abreast of developments in machine learning and lead the team through appropriate adoption
  • Work with the team to constantly evolve and uplevel the ML and Data practice at Tempo
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align priorities and values
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members and the Tempo Engineering community at large
  • Recommend strategies around maintaining ML and data assets to ensure durable operation and optimization over the duration of their useful lifespan
