Summary
Join Waymo's Mapping team and contribute to building high-resolution maps for autonomous driving. You will develop backend infrastructure for processing map data, apply machine learning to generate maps from raw data, improve internal map editing tools, and scale systems for global mapping. This role requires a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, at least 5 years of machine learning experience (preferably in mapping), and hands-on experience with image recognition. A passion for software engineering and the willingness to own problems end-to-end are essential. The salary range is $226,000β$286,000 USD, and Waymo offers a discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and a generous company benefits program.
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5 years Machine Learning experience (preferably in Mapping)
- Hands-on machine learning experience - ideally on image recognition problems
- Willingness to own problems end-to-end and work on various parts of the system
- A passion for good software engineering

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Tensorflow and/or C++
- Experience with large-scale data processing using frameworks like Google Data Flow or Apache Beam
