Staff Mobile Engineer

Summary

Join OLX's CU Team as a Staff Engineer specializing in mobile development. Partner with senior leadership and engineering teams to design and implement the mobile strategy, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and quality. Collaborate with various departments to align technical decisions with business objectives. Build, develop, and execute the company's mobile strategy, working closely with Product and Data Teams. Lead the design, development, and delivery of the company's mobile strategy, focusing on cross-platform mobile technologies. Provide strategic leadership in mobile technology innovation, mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Staff Engineer, Senior Engineer, or similar senior engineering role in the mobile space
• Expert knowledge of cross-platform mobile technologies, preferably Flutter (but experience with other technologies such as React Native or Xamarin is also considered)
• Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and implement long-term technical vision while handling short- and medium-term needs
• Experience working in highly collaborative environments, interacting with Product, Engineering, Data, and Product teams to ensure alignment
• Proven track record of leading the development of large-scale, high-performance mobile applications
• Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with leadership responsibilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence engineers and product counterparts across all levels of the organization
• Experience in driving technical innovation and supporting the rollout of mobile strategy, bringing the engineers along
• Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and tools, mobile CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of the company's mobile strategy, focusing on cross-platform mobile technologies (preferably Flutter)
• Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to drive technical alignment and ensure seamless integration across the business vertical
• Support the company in planning and executing the rollout of its new mobile strategy, ensuring smooth adoption and implementation
• Ensure that mobile solutions are scalable, secure, and performant while adhering to industry best practices
• Provide strategic leadership in mobile technology innovation, staying ahead of industry trends and driving continuous improvement across mobile platforms
• Engage in hands-on technical work when necessary, leading by example and mentoring other engineers and staff engineers
• Foster collaboration across multiple departments, ensuring that the mobile roadmap aligns with broader company goals
• Act as a subject matter expert in mobile engineering, offering guidance on architectural decisions and mobile development frameworks
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality products by implementing robust testing and monitoring strategies
