Staff Security Engineer

Summary

Join the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative as a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team to build technology solutions and cultivate a culture of shared best practices and knowledge around core engineering.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of relevant coding experience
• Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure
• Experience securing cloud-based systems
• Security domain expertise in areas such as Threat modeling, Security Architecture, Security Monitoring, Detection Engineering, and Incident Response
• Experience designing reliable systems
• Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, and any other FaaS or containerized workloads experience
• Showed ability with languages such as Java, Python, Go, and Rust
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes, Container security, and continuous deployment systems

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve the efficiency, stability, and security of CZI engineering
• Work with the existing infrastructure security team and other security stakeholders within the organization to ensure we’re doing the most impactful work we can for CZI
• Design and build tools and libraries, constituting a shared stack for use across 5+ engineering teams
• Evangelize and educate teams across CZI on best practices
• Driving impact across the company, CZI is constantly re-imagining how to secure our infrastructure best. One will work closely with the Product Security (ProdSec) team at the intersection of infrastructure, the application layer, and the ever-changing risk management landscape
