Staff Software Development Engineer

Summary

Join Experian as a Full Stack Expert Software Development Engineer and design, develop, test, and implement solutions for automotive software applications. You will lead development of features and complex systems, code and maintain Java applications, deploy applications into AWS environments, and create CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities include participating in backlog grooming, working through all phases of the software development lifecycle, performing design and code reviews, and mentoring junior developers. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, 10+ years of software development experience, and expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and various other technologies. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering or related field with software and computer science course work
• 10+ years of software development experience, including designing and building high volume transactional large-scale distributed and multi-tenant systems with cloud native technologies
• Experience designing and developing applications for the automotive industry
• Expert in developing microservices at scale using Spring boot, API gateways
• Demonstrated knowledge of building and deploying large-scale applications to the cloud
• Experience with AWS components for Compute, Storage, Containers, Security, Monitoring, Database, Front-end Web and Mobile
• In-depth knowledge of a broad range of commercial and opensource tools - Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, KAFKA, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, GIT, JBoss, Tomcat, AWS
• Experience with front end technologies like JavaScript / ReactJS/ CSS/HTML / VueJS / Bootstrap and responsive design for web
• Experience in DBMSs such as PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle
• Experience with programming concepts and methods, software development lifecycle and Agile development methodology
• Experience mentoring junior developers

Responsibilities

• Lead development of features, POC's, technical projects and complex systems
• Code and maintain advanced Java applications (with a focus on maintaining data quality and performance at scale)
• Deploy all applications into AWS environments driving cloud migration and continuous integration/continuous deployment best practices
• Create CI/CD pipelines to improve the build and deployment processes
• Design and develop test automation framework for unit testing and smoke testing the applications
• Participate and support Backlog Grooming process by working with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Scrum Team, and other partners to make sure requirements are captured in Stories that Scrum Team will be ultimately responsible for delivering
• Work with project team members in all phases of the software development life cycle
• Work with the team to understand the project requirements, lead system architecture, technical design, and develop the application components based on the design
• Perform design and code reviews for the Automotive applications to maintain code quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Mobile application development for Apple & Android
• Containers and Container Application platforms (ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes preferred)
• Certifications in Java, AWS, Kubernetes or similar areas
