Summary

Join Airbnb's Application Foundation Org to build and improve the foundation that powers products across Airbnb as a Media Foundation Staff Backend Engineer.

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant software development experience in a fast paced tech environment
• Strong software skills in Java
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the engineering, product & design organizations
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality and system quality
• Experience working with image processing or content video transcoding
• Experience working with a microservice architecture at scale is a plus

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy and build novel products and features that our users will love
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be reviewing code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks
• Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities
• Ideate and prototype solutions that address concerns that are unique to the Airbnb Media hosting and media processing
