Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with functional or imperative programming languages β€” e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, C, or Java
  • Proficient in working with a wide variety of databases, including SQL, NoSQL, distributed databases, and other relevant technologies
  • Approach building and maintaining systems with maturity and rigor
  • Able to work in different technical systems and concerns
  • Have both built and refactored complex (often distributed) systems
  • Comfortable with RESTful APIs and understanding of API design principles
  • Familiar with troubleshoot and debug complex web applications and bottlenecks
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in web development, including knowledge of common vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence downwards and upwards, and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Setting technical standards and driving technical directions for the engineering team
  • Commit to simplifying the complexities of healthcare by building systems that multiply human efforts
  • Introduce new tools and technologies to solve problems and move our goals forward
  • Lead the team in defining and maintaining development practices that let us iterate quickly while maintaining quality β€” including writing tests and documenting key implementations
  • Work with Product Managers and operational staff to conceptualize new features with minimal oversight
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for the engineering team
