Staff Software Engineer

Summary

Join Datadog's Event Platform Storage team as a Senior Engineer. You will build and operate high-throughput, real-time data pipelines using Go and Java, leveraging technologies like Kafka and Kubernetes. This critical role involves owning significant portions of the service, leading architectural decisions, and contributing to a scalable, reliable storage engine. The ideal candidate possesses experience with storage engines, distributed systems, and relevant programming languages. Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Sci/Eng, Math, Physics or equivalent STEM field
• Experience with one or more programing languages (Go, Java, Rust, C++, Python)
• Experience building storage engines, datastores and/or high scale Distributed Systems
• Desire to work in a fast paced, high-growth tech first environment

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed, high-throughput, real-time data pipelines
• Do it in Go and Java, with bits of Python or other languages
• Use Kafka, Kubernetes, FoundationDB, and other open-source components
• Own meaningful parts of our service, have an impact, grow with the company
• Design and architecture the more effective data pipeline using modern architecture
• Write a significant amount of code, lead architectural decisions for new and existing services
