Remote Staff Software Engineer

As a member of the Apps team, you'll collaborate with leadership and senior engineers to build and improve upon the technical roadmap for Discord's Developer Platform.

Requirements

• 7+ years full-stack experience
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well cross-functionally
• Comfort working with ambiguity and get excited about working collaboratively to better define complex problems, figure out solutions, and then execute on them
• Act as a problem-solver, not just a developer. Participate at all levels of ideation, implementation and release
• A sense of ownership. You believe in solving a problem completely rather than simply shipping a solution. You can operate autonomously
• You actively seek out opportunities to mentor, coach, and sponsor other engineers in their career growth

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership and senior engineers to build and improve upon the technical roadmap for Discord’s Developer Platform
• Work with the Apps team within Platform Ecosystem to build & maintain SDKs, APIs, UI/UX and other platform services
• Collaborate with other staff engineers and partners across the organization to ensure technical understanding to other systems, products, and vision
• Improvements to features, tools and workflows that empowers public developers to create and configure the latest apps, bots and activities features
• Collaborate with design, product and other engineers to introduce new features used by our 200M+ monthly active users
• Participate at all levels of ideation, implementation and release
• Have a genuine say in the details, and have fun doing it!
