Summary

Join Loop as a full-stack Staff Software Engineer and become a key technical leader shaping the future of our platform. This role requires 10+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years of staff-level experience solving complex problems. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • 2+ years of experience solving complex technical problems at the Staff-level
  • You have demonstrated hands-on experience building web applications and APIs
  • You evaluate decisions using context to drive an assessment of trade-offs by considering multiple implementation options
  • You have led and participated in effective testing processes on previous teams and have opinions on creating a quality-driven development process
  • You have worked in environments with continuous integration and deployment and have contributed to scaling those processes
  • You can discuss times in your career when you experienced rapid growth, your learning style, and how you maximize what you gain from each project
  • You can provide examples of crucial conversations, such as giving feedback to a leader, customer, or teammate, and have made mistakes with humility
  • You can share instances where you improved existing processes or systems and negotiated with your team or stakeholders to implement changes
  • You have examples of situations where a team decision did not align with your preference, but you still fully committed to the direction and drove progress
  • You can share stories about when you pushed beyond your perceived limits and succeeded, and when you tried and learned from the experience

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain web applications for the Loop product line, driving technical decisions and ensuring high-quality code
  • Solve complex technical issues for merchants, customers, internal stakeholders, and partners, ensuring an exceptional user experience
  • Diagnose system and team issues and bring solutions and plans to the table in order to promote and drive healthy change into teams and the product
  • Develop solid automated tests to ensure code quality
  • Maintain a healthy, continuous integration and deployment process
  • Lead, assess, and make recommendations for engineering best practices to ensure effective scaling, contributing to long-term system scalability and stability
  • Define and enforce technical standards, strategies, and vision across the organization, improving the overall quality and consistency of the codebase
  • Elevate the engineering culture at Loop by fostering a supportive and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and proactively seek opportunities for learning and growth
  • Exhibit a strong sense of ownership over your work and its impact
  • Lead initiatives and take action to address problems without waiting for explicit permission, tackling complex technical challenges that may impact multiple teams
