Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure role at The Browser Company. The qualifications required are 6+ years of experience leading critical projects or initiatives within large, complex infrastructure, proficiency in a programming language like Python, Go, C++, etc., experience working with GCP, AWS, or Azure, experience setting up monitoring and observability for cloud infrastructure, mastery of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc., passion about building tools and systems that make other engineers more productive, pragmatism, motivation by nebulous problems, and excitement to work in a startup environment with quick product validation cycles. The job is primarily focused on hiring in North American time zones and requires 4+ hours of overlap time with team members in Eastern Time Zone.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience leading critical projects or initiatives within large, complex infrastructure
  • Proficiency in a programming language like Python, Go, C++, etc
  • Experience working with GCP, AWS, or Azure, with significant expertise in at least one of these
  • Experience setting up monitoring and observability for cloud infrastructure and using these tools to deliver improvements
  • Mastery of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc

Responsibilities

  • Enhance engineering productivity by improving CI/CD pipelines
  • Find creative ways to improve build and PR validation times
  • Scope and spearhead technical projects across our Windows, Mac, iOS, Chromium, and Swift toolchain builds related to our cloud and build infrastructure
  • Manage and deploy new hardware and software for CI systems
  • Build observability and monitoring into our infrastructure
  • Monitor and optimize our CI/CD pipelines to ensure engineers stay productive
  • Build and maintain our AWS, GCP, and Azure infrastructure using Terraform
  • Improve the deployment and management of our Tailscale VPN
